Membership Selection

Important Information

The Membership Selection Committee (MSC) is instrumental in overseeing and ensuring the proper execution of the Membership Selection Program (MSP) within the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Second District (2D). The committee's focus is to provide clear guidance, manage documentation, and verify compliance with MSP requirements for Brothers and chapters.

Responsibilities

1. Training Completion Verification: Confirm Brothers' attendance and completion of the mandatory 2D "MSP In-person Training" sessions.

2. Form Processing: Collect and validate Forms 9A-1I (Classroom Training Confirmation) and 9A-20 (Acknowledgement and Indemnification Agreement).

3. Chapter Certification: Verify the accuracy of the Form 53-B2 (MSP Chapter Roster Validation) submitted by Chapter MSP Leadership and update the IHQ system with "MSP Qualified" status.

4. Guidance & Communication: Serve as a resource for Brothers and Chapter MSP Leadership regarding MSP policies and procedures.

Purpose & Mission

The MSC aims to ensure a consistent and accurate application of the MSP through guidance, verification, and the dissemination of critical information. By doing so, it supports the fraternity's commitment to integrity, accountability, and excellence in the selection process.

The MSC is led by experienced Brothers with specialized roles:

  • Anthony "Hard Note" Jones: Administration & Communications

• Ex Officio Members: 1VDR, 2VDR, and Corridor Representatives.

MSP Qualification Requirements

To become "MSP Qualified," Brothers must:

1. Be fully financial and in good standing at the national, district, and chapter levels.

2. Pass the IHQ "MSP Certification Test" within the last five years with a minimum score of 70%.

3. Complete 2D "MSP In-person Training" within the Omega Year of the MSP cycle.

4. Submit the following forms:

   • Form 9A-1I: Classroom Training Confirmation

   • Form 9A-20: Acknowledgement and Indemnification Agreement

Key Notes

• Omega Year: Defined as November 1 to October 31.

• Training Format: Sessions are conducted in person unless otherwise announced. Attendance for the full duration is mandatory.

• Forms: Issued electronically to participants who complete the training. Completed forms must be submitted to the chapter KRS.

Training for Omega Year 2025

All scheduled training sessions for the 2025 cycle have been completed. Future training opportunities will be announced by MSC.

Submission Deadlines

• Form 53-B2: Must be submitted no later than two weeks after training attendance to ensure timely processing.

• Responsibility: Chapter MSP Leadership ensures the B2's accuracy and completeness before submission to MSC.
