PURPOSE & MISSION

To provide Brothers with the required information, guidance and contact information necessary to help ensure the appropriate and consistent application and execution of the Membership Selection Program (MSP) for the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS

 

In addition to those noted above, the committee includes Sub-chairmen, Bros. Eric "Moby" Brown (Training & Operations), Anthony "Hard Note" Jones (Administration & Communications), Donnie Sauls (Information Technology), W. Thomas Stovall II, Esq. (Legal Counsel), and Bros. Joseph Brown, El TaShik Faruq, Rob Ferguson, Charles Jones, Timothy Thompson. Joe Wallace, and Shawn Wilkinson.  Corridor Representatives and the 1VDR and 2VDR are also ex officio members. 


MSP QUALIFIED

  • Be fully-financial and in good standing of the Omega Year with Nationals, the Second District (2D) and a 2D Chapter

  • Complete IHQ "MSP Certification Test" (on-line exam) within 5 years of the MSP cycle with a score of 70% or better

  • Complete 2D "MSP In-person Training" within the Omega Year of the MSP cycle*

  • Complete Form 9A-1I, Classroom Training Confirmation Form**

  • Complete Form 9A-20, Acknowledgement and Indemnification Agreement**

NOTE:  Omega Year is defined as November 1 to October 31.

*IHQ "MSP Classroom Training" may not be substituted for 2D "MSP In-person Training" to participate in MSP within the Second District.

**Use forms provided by the 2D Membership Selection Committee and submit completed forms to Chapter KRS.

MSP IN-PERSON TRAINING

​2D MSP In-person Training formats are schedule by the 2D MSC, and the primary training format is resident/on-site unless otherwise determined and announced.  Registration is required and attendance for the duration of the training session is required to receive completion credit.  Ensure your timely arrival and departure for your session, and/or appropriate technology connections if MSC offers a virtual or hybrid session.  Note also that remote attendance for virtual and hybrid sessions requires your camera to be on and you to be visible for the duration.

TRAINING SCHEDULE for OMEGA YEAR 2024 

The Omega Year 2024 (OY24) spanning November 1, 2023 through October 31, 2024 features the following Second District "MSP In-person Training" sessions.  PLEASE READ the following prior to registering to help ensure you are aware and understand the information, requirements and expectations.

A. Training

 

1. The Second District "MSP In-person Training" is the required training for MSP participation in the Second District.

2. Second District training is open to Brothers irrespective of their financial status.

3. Register ASAP via a registration portal link, but not-later-than 72 hours/3 days prior to the training date.

B. Attendance

 

1. "To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is unacceptable [for credit]"

2. Timely on-site check-in/sign-in with the Membership Selection Committee is required for credit.

3. Attendance for the duration of the training a session is a condition for receiving credit.

C. Forms

 

1. No forms or documents are required to attend, nor will they be collected at the training.

2. Required forms and submission requirements will be discussed during the training.

NOTICE:  If you did not receive the Forms 9A=1I and 9A-20 via email from Adobe to digitally complete and submit, then select to 9A-1I below from the session you attended and the 9A-20 below to complete and return to your KRS for recordkeeping and to record on the Form 53-B he will submit.  If you completed the Adobe form digitally, you will receive a email reply from Adobe with a copy of your completed forms for your records.  Please ensure that you forward that email receipt with the completed forms to your KRS for recordkeeping and to record on the 53-B.

** Form 9A-20, Acknowledgement & Indemnification Agreement **

FORMS by SESSION for OMEGA YEAR 2024 

 

Forms 9A-1I and 9A-20 will be issued by the Membership Selection Committee via email from Adobe directly to the Brothers who receive attendance credit for a 2D MSP In-person Training (MIT) session.  Check your Inbox as well as your Junk/spam box before contacting MSC for assistance.  In the event you do not find the Adobe email, you can complete/use the appropriate PDFs above of Form 9A-1I session you attended and the Form 9A-20Whether using the Adobe email or the PDF file, Brothers are responsible to provide a copy of their completed forms to their KRS. 

 

KRSes that receive PDF files are responsible to ensure their accuracy and completeness before submitting them to MSC via membershipselection@opp2d.org.  KRSes must compile all Forms 9A-1I received into a single PDF file with Brothers' forms in alphabetical order by last name.  The KRS must follow the same procedure for the Forms 9A-20.  Only submit information for Brothers that completed both forms.

Form 53-B will be issued by the MSC directly to the KRSes to complete.  KRSes must complete and submit the form to the MSC for consideration.  Failure to provide accurate, complete and timely 53-B submissions can delay review and processing to determine MSP Qualified Brothers and MSP Qualified Chapters.  A copy of the Form 53-B follows for use by KRSes and must be signed and dated by the KRS in the top right.
